Speed reading is tremendously valuable. You won’t even understand just how great it is until you try it out for yourself – it is simply the art of silencing subvocalization. Most readers have an average reading speed of 200 wpm, which is about as fast as they can read a passage out loud. Make sure that you learn speed reading in a slow and steady manner. Jumping to very high words-per-minute (WPM) will not solve the purpose.
